Immigrant Projects
Vosselag is currently engaged in two projects involving immigrants from the Voss area of Norway. One involves identifying the charter members of Vosselag for our centennial in June 2009 with the potential for a follow-up book and the other involves identifying the pre-1930 immigrants from Voss and the first 1-2 generations of descendants.
Charter Member Project
List of members The goal of the Charter Member Project is to identify the 107 individuals who constituted the original membership of Vosselag at its founding in 1909.
Many of these were immigrants or first generation descendants. We are collecting biographical information, photos, and stories of these charter members.
Along with this we are attempting to identify descendants of these charter members in order to invite them to a program honoring their ancestors at the
June stevne in Albert Lea, MN.
Vivian Gullickson White is the driving force on this project.

Knut A. Rene's History of Emigration from Voss and the Vossings in America (originally published in Norwegian in 1930 by Vosselag) is the inspiration for a project to
create a database of those immigrants as well as ones who may have been missed by Rene. The goal is to include as many as possible of the first generations born
in America as an aid to link those searching for their roots in Voss (including Evanger, Vossevangen, and Vossestrand). If you are a descendant or have information
to share, contact Vivian White. ______________________________________________________________________ Page created by Ruth
